Physiotherapy (also known as physical therapy) is the foundation of our "whole person approach" to chiropractic care. Physiotherapy is a health profession which provides treatment to an individual patient based on a health professional's assessment of that patient's restriction of movement or function due to aging, injury, disease, or a variety of other factors.
The goal of chiropractic treatment is to maximize the quality of life for the patient by restoring mobility. Physiotherapy targets this goal but also seeks to improve a patient's psychological, emotional, and social well being beyond the physical ailments. Physiotherapy is especially effective for patients recovering from an injury such as a car accident, sports injury, or household accident. Since no patient is exactly the same, the individual assessment of the injury and the pain it causes results in a very specific and personalized treatment plan developed for that individual patient.
