Spinal and Postural Screening
Spinal and postural screening is a diagnostic procedure involving the direct analysis of your spine using a S.A.M. (Spinal Analysis Machine). The SAM system allows us to take a snapshot of your spine and relates this snapshot to your posture. This allows Dr. Brannan to pin point misalignments, stress points, and other spinal issues that could be the cause of your pain. Once we know the source, treatment can begin.
This screening can also reveal problems with your stance or posture. Back, neck, and body pain, headaches and many other ailments can be caused by subtle yet continuous stress on the spine as a result of bad posture. The basics of good posture are also conducive to a healthy spine.
At Inline Chiropractic, we perform a postural and spinal screen as part of our new patient interview to assist us in diagnosing the source of pain and establish a course of treatment. In many cases, the pain is caused by subluxation as a result of bad posture.

Be conscious of your posture and following these basic principles of good posture to maintain the health of your spine. In addition, actively working to improve your posture will help to alleviate any pain you may experience due to bad posture by promoting blood flow through your properly aligned spine.
- Stand Up Straight - Keeps your spine in line as related to your back and chest.
- Keep Your Head/Chin Up - Maintains the alignment between your neck and the rest of your spine.
- Feet at Shoulder's Width Apart - Keeps your spine in line left to right.
- Do Not Slouch - Slouching puts additional stress on your spine as it forces the spine to support the the upper half of your body instead of relying on your abdominal muscles.
"...After years of pain and many visits to my medical physician, I went to see a Chiropractor. Dr. Brannan took x-rays and sat down with me to thoroughly explain why I was feeling the way I did. He put me on a program which entailed therapeutic massage followed by a chiropractic adjustment. I am ecstatic with the results. Through routine chiropractic care, I am feeling amazing."
